About Wayne Van Vechten

Wayne is a full time multimillion dollar award winning agent, specializing in Smith Mountain Lake, Bedford, Franklin & Roanoke Counties.  As well as the designation of REALTORs, he holds advance real estate designations of GRI, e-Pro, SFR and Senior Housing Specialist.

Prior to his real estate career, Wayne was a federal employee. Wayne retired from the U.S. Agency for International Development, where he was the Deputy Director for Office of Information Resources Management. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management.  He has 2 adult children and 6 grandchildren.

He grew up in Upstate New York in the Mohawk Valley, located between Syracuse and Albany.  He moved to the DC metro area in 1974 and lived in both the Maryland and Virginia suburbs until retirement.  When Wayne retired, his top requirement was to move somewhere where he felt he was "On Vacation" every day.  He found Smith Mountain Lake in the Southwestern portion of Virginia, and now call it "home." His passion is boating and water sports.

He lives in Franklin County on Smith Mountain Lake.  On the Blackwater side of the lake.

His philosophy of "put the client first" has proven to be successful for both his clients and himself.

So when you decide that you'd like to buy or sell a home at Smith Mountain Lake or in the Franklin, Bedford, Pittsylvania or Roanoke County areas, please contact me.
